Simple rules for Ticket to ride (USA version)

1. Choose 3 destination cards. Keep at least 2 of them. 2. Draw 5 wagon cards. Then, start the game. Moves available: Draw 2 Wagon cards *Take note that 1 Locomotive card(wild card) = 2 wagon cards) OR Claim a route OR Draw another 3 destination cards (have to keep at least 1 of them every time you draw) Rules to take note of: The colours of the wagon cards must match the ones on the board (between a route). I.e: 2 white spaces between 2 routes can be claimed by 2 white wagon cards. This will be considered as 1 move. Once a route has been claimed, other players are not able to claim it anymore. (In games with more than 3 players, some routes have double lines :D) The game will end when there are 2 or less wagon pieces in a player's possession. (Once the wagon pieces reaches 2 or below, everyone will play one last turn.) Point system: Every time a route is claimed, the player will get points according to board. Another way to get points is to finish routes

Review: Hei She Hui (Bosses Restaurant) at Vivocity

PL's parents brought us to this Bosses Restaurant in Vivocity for dinner. It is a Cantonese style Chinese restaurant and it's a tad too pricey for my taste. We ended up calling Set D for dinner which cost around $500 bucks in total after all the taxes? But I must say that the food is good. We got prawns, codfish, sea cucumber in the set meal, and the quality of the food is good. The only exception is their dessert which I don't like due to the presence of the coconut milk. If not, the rest of the food are really quality stuff. They refilled the water and tea for us without us asking. And they gave us a generous helping of vinegar and ginger when PL's mum asked for it. The service is quite good, and the view from the restaurant is awesome! Be sure to ask for a window seat as you would be able to look towards sentosa, meaning you would be able to see the crane dance and the fireworks (if available). I think that is the premium you pay for having the ambience. Please

Review: Ticket to Ride Board game

I first played it in Minds Cafe and it got stuck in my head.  It is a very interesting and strategic game for friends to play. The basic information is here ->  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ticket_to_Ride_(board_game) After playing it, we decided that food and drinks do not match with this game because we were too focused on the game to touch the food. One cons about this game is the method of counting the points. It is quite troublesome to keep track on the points especially when you are eating, chatting and strategising at the same time. HAHA. I played the first version and got hooked. Initially, we wanted to play the Europe edition but it was too complicated for us beginners. So we got the staff at Minds Cafe to teach us the first version. I think it is a very good way of learning the geography of the different countries in a recreational way as they made use of real city states. Time to get one soon, provided I have space to put in my house :P

Review: 933 seafood lunch at Batam

The food is -.-. It was one of the worse seafood lunch that I have ever ate :( Too substandard for my taste. FYI, I went on this Batam tour and this lunch was included. Beware of ordering coconut drink from this place as I suspect that they reuse the coconut shells. Can you imagine how unhygienic is that?!! OMG. I didn't even finish that drink. The first clue was that, even though I have not touched the coconut drink, the flesh in the coconut was scraped clean. And there was a spoon mark inside the coconut. @@ An inverted u shape, like someone had put too much strength in scraping the coconut. The flower served to us was horrible. It tasted off, and it was one of the rare times that the crab dish is not polished off by the 10 of us at the table. Then they served us snails. @@ The only edible dish was the vegetable dish which was cleared within 2 mins it was served to the table. I would definitely not recommend anyone to go there unless they are my enemies, (like my idiotic bo

Review: Crown Vista Hotel Batam

Since it was a groupon deal bought by PL and his friends, I just tagged along without much expectations. 4 of us added the massage as PL said that he didn't want it. Btw, the massage was good. I told the masseur in broken Malay that my shoulder aches and I feel like an old person, she did a customised massage for me(I told her I only want to massage my shoulder, and she did it together with the neck and head! And she even corrected the neck posture by cracking it. To think that I had to pay 150rm in Malaysia to do that...I feel cheated) The massage was done in Hotel 89, and my masseur is called Farah. A petite lady. Anyway, back to the main topic. The hotel is situated on a hill, and it takes 15 mins to get to BSC or Nagoya Hills. There is a shuttle service from the hotel and advanced booking is required. The rooms are really spacious! Imagine a two double beds spaces with some extras. The 3 guys room was a tad small because they added in an additional bed. And they gave us con

Review: Xcape Singapore (Catch me if you can)

I was all up and ready to go when I heard that there is an escape game in Singapore, and it did not fail to disappoint me. Some of the clues looked very used, but they are still readable. Girls, there is a reason why they ask you not to wear skirts and heels for this game! WP, Jia Hao, Wendy, PL and I did not fare too badly for it! (we managed to pass with maybe around 9-10mins to spare?) We made use of the hint though. Was amused by Jia Hao's rampage when it was about to end. Apparently this particular game is the easiest out of the lot, but I would still say that it is challenging enough. We took quite a fair bit of time to complete everything. I totally destroyed the whole room trying to look for the clues. HAHA.  Fun! Edited: I played Whisper of the dead and Inception and I still found this (Catch me if you can) the easiest! =D

Review: San Lou Restaurant at JB

First visited there on 7/8/2013, 4.30pm It was my first ever visit there and the four of us, Jeremy, WP, Asae and I took a cab down. The cab fare should be less than RM10. They like to tok you there. We went down so early that we managed to catch a chocolate ice kacang at the opposite mini hawker centre. We ordered their Xin Zhou Mi Fen, Salted Egg Crab, Black Pepper Crab, Butter Crayfish, Assam fish and a vege. I was not impressed with any of the dishes, despite seeing such good reviews of them on the net. The Xin Zhou Mi Fen is too dry for my liking, and the Mi Fen was still clumped together when we ate them. I'm not too sure why but the salted egg crab was not very flavorful and the crab was not fresh. :( The black pepper crab fared better but it was still average. Butter crayfish was also not up to standard. They fried them till the meat was too dry and I had to use my chopsticks to dig the flesh out piece by piece. The Assam fish was good! Despite me not eati

1st Appointment: Bluebay Wedding Review

Went to the Singapore outlet on 11 August to book the MUA and PG for our April photoshoot in Taipei. Apparently, they have changed the location of the Taiwan outlet since they have merged with Penny Wu. Didn't managed to book Da Xiong as he is already booked by some other people. In the end, we settled for someone else whom I can't remember the name. Must pray hard that he is a good photographer. Service-wise, I think she was quite good. Water is promptly served when we sat down, and there was another couple who was trying out the gowns at the other side. She asked us if we have any queries after she explained to us that we have to go down to the shop again in Jan for the second appointment. She also reminded us to bring along the nu-bra, high heels, slippers for me and long sleeves for PL. But, I was quite disappointed that we can't decide on the route first in Singapore before going down. Hopefully she will go through the gowns and more information about the Taiwa
